Dr. Shireen Jacob earned her medical degree from the Christian Medical College in Vellore, India. She went on to complete a Neurology Residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas.

Her clinical interests and special procedures include Movement and Neuromuscular Disorders, Dementia, Botox for Migraines, Electroencephalogram and Electromyography.

A proud member of the American Academy of Neurology, Dr. Jacob received numerous honors during medical school, such as Outstanding Resident Award nominee, Intern of the Month and Recognition of Teaching Excellence from the John Sealy School of Medicine in Galveston, Texas.

As a child, Dr. Jacob’s mother suffered a Subarachnoid Hemorrhage. Dr. Jacob recalls how she was positively impacted by the compassionate care her mother received from doctors during that time. Her mother’s remarkable recovery later inspired Dr. Jacob to pursue medicine and provide the same care and hope to others.

In her spare time, Dr. Jacob enjoys baking, traveling and gardening as well as spending time with her husband and pets. She attributes her childhood experiences, as well as others throughout her life and career, as motivating factors that keep her resilient and appreciative of every “God-given opportunity.

Dr. Jacob holds close to the scripture found in Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not onto your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
