Dr. Nitish Kumar earned his medical degree from Patna Medical College in Bihar, India. He went on to complete a residency at Saint Louis University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri and a Fellowship at the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri. Dr. Kumar is proud to be a part of a health system bringing the latest advancements in neurology to Central Alabama.

Board certified in Neurology and Vascular Neurology, Dr. Kumar is a proud member of the American Academy of Neurology, American Stroke Association/American Heart Association, and Society of Vascular and Interventional Neurology. His clinical interests include stroke, brain aneurysm and hemorrhage, cerebral vascular malformation, stenting and angioplasty.

In his spare time, Dr. Kumar enjoys playing soccer, tennis, or cooking his favorite dishes.
