Dr. Abt received her undergraduate degree in chemical and biological engineering from the University of Alabama, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She was also in the University Honors Program, Chemical Engineering Honors Society and Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honors Society.

Dr. Abt completed her medical school training at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Suwanee, GA. She then attended the Montgomery Family Medicine Residency Program, where she was selected as Chief Resident in her final year of training.

Dr. Abt is board certified in family medicine, and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. In her spare time, she enjoys tennis and spending time with family, which includes her husband and young son.
